Andhra Pradesh is fast emerging as India’s hottest technology and investment hub, and the latest push has come from none other than Mukesh Ambani. Reliance Industries has announced plans to build a 1 GW, fully modular, AI-driven data centre, matching the scale of Google’s massive project already underway in the state.

This announcement marks one of Reliance’s most significant expansions in the digital infrastructure and AI ecosystem, signalling a new era of global-standard data capabilities for India.

Reliance’s Data Centre to Mirror Global Tech Giants

The upcoming 1 GW AI data centre will be equipped with:

Graphics Processing Units (GPUs)

Tensor Processing Units (TPUs)

Advanced AI processors

Modular architecture for rapid expansion

The design will be similar to Reliance’s high-performance data centre in Jamnagar, known for handling extremely large computational workloads.

According to sources, Reliance is also preparing 6 GW of solar power projects to supply uninterrupted clean energy to the data centre—making it one of the most eco-friendly and self-sufficient data facilities in the country.

Google’s October Deal Triggered the Momentum
In October, Andhra Pradesh signed a high-value agreement with Google to build a 6 GW data centre cluster. The state has already finalised:

1 GW with Google

500 MW with Sify Technologies

Google’s investment alone is expected to touch USD 15 billion, marking one of the largest single commitments by a global tech giant in India.

Andhra Pradesh’s IT Minister Nara Lokesh said the goal is to turn the state into a data centre capital of Asia, leveraging clean energy, strategic coastal access, and strong government backing.

Reliance to Build a 170-Acre Integrated Food Park
Apart from the digital push, Reliance is also planning a greenfield integrated food park in Kurnool, spread over 170 acres, which will manufacture:

●Packaged drinking water

●Beverages

●Chocolates

●Ready-to-eat snacks

This will create thousands of jobs and support regional agriculture and processing units.

AP Govt’s Aggressive Investment Push: 400 MoUs Coming
The Andhra Pradesh government is hosting a major CII partnership summit and is expected to sign over 400 MoUs with domestic and global companies, including:

Brookfield – Rs 1.08 lakh crore

ReNew – Rs 82,000 crore

SAEL Industries – Rs 22,000 crore

Hero Future Energies – Rs 15,000 crore

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu said the state will attract Rs 20 lakh crore investments and create 20 lakh jobs over the next four years, asserting that “these MoUs are not on paper; every project will be grounded.”
