17,000+ Acres Identified: Haryana Authority Launches Mega Real Estate Expansion Drive

In a major push to expand planned urban development, the Haryana Shehri Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP) has unveiled an ambitious plan to procure vast stretches of land across Gurugram, Faridabad and adjoining regions. The initiative aims to boost the availability of residential and commercial plots while preventing the spread of illegal colonies and unplanned construction.

First Phase Targets Gurugram’s High-Growth Belt
The first phase will focus on Gurugram, where HSVP intends to procure nearly 17,300 acres across multiple sectors, including rapidly developing zones along major corridors. Land details for these areas have already been uploaded, and landowners can express their willingness to sell through the e-Bhoomi portal from March 1 to April 30, after which negotiations will begin.
Officials say the move is designed to keep pace with soaring demand for housing and commercial spaces in Gurugram, one of India’s fastest-growing real estate markets.

Expansion to Sohna, Pataudi and Farrukhnagar
In the second phase, about 5,035 acres will be procured in Sohna, Pataudi and Gwal Pahari between May 1 and June 30. These areas are emerging as future growth corridors due to improving connectivity and infrastructure projects.
The third phase will target 1,203 acres in Farrukhnagar sectors, with the portal open from July 1 to August 31.

Faridabad Also in Focus
Beyond Gurugram, HSVP plans to procure around 20,500 acres in Faridabad through phased purchases. Additional land acquisition efforts will extend to Palwal, Nuh, Tauru and nearby regions, signaling a large-scale urban expansion strategy across the NCR periphery.

e-Bhoomi Portal to Enable Voluntary Sales
Unlike traditional land acquisition, the authority will procure land through negotiations and voluntary participation via the e-Bhoomi portal or land-pooling schemes. Officials emphasized that the land will not be forcibly acquired.
Authorities say much of the vacant land in these regions is either being bought by private developers or converted into unauthorized colonies. Planned procurement will allow the government to develop regulated residential sectors, commercial hubs and public infrastructure.

Aim: Affordable, Planned Growth
HSVP officials noted that the scheme will help provide quality real estate options to buyers while ensuring orderly urban expansion. Development work is expected to begin after negotiations conclude.
If implemented successfully, the project could reshape the future landscape of Gurugram and Faridabad, creating new townships and easing pressure on existing urban centers.
