Tripti Bhatt, an IPS officer from the picturesque hills of Uttarakhand, exemplifies the spirit of dedication and sacrifice that drives many to pursue a career in public service.

Her journey, marked by unwavering determination and a commitment to serving the nation, inspires aspiring civil servants across the country.

Rejecting Lucrative Offers for a Higher Calling

Hailing from a family of educators, Tripti’s academic journey began in Almora, where she excelled in her studies. After graduating from Pantnagar University with a degree in engineering, she initially embarked on a corporate career as an assistant manager at NTPC.

However, the allure of public service beckoned, and she made the bold decision to leave a secure job behind.

Before achieving her ultimate goal of cracking the UPSC Civil Services Examination, Tripti displayed remarkable foresight.

She turned down a staggering 16 government job offers, including one from the prestigious Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). This decision, born from a deep-seated desire to contribute to society, underscores her unwavering commitment to her chosen path.

Inspired by Dr. Kalam

An early encounter with the late President, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, further fueled Tripti’s journey towards public service. During her ninth grade, she had the privilege of meeting the renowned scientist, who presented her with a handwritten letter, a gesture that profoundly inspired her dedication to serving the nation.

A Rising Star in the Uttarakhand Police

In 2013, Tripti successfully cleared the UPSC Civil Services Examination on her first attempt, securing the 165th rank. Opting for the Indian Police Service, she was allotted her home cadre of Uttarakhand.

Her journey in the police force began as a Superintendent of Police (SP) in Dehradun, followed by key roles as SP in Chamoli and Commander of the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) in Tehri Garhwal. Currently, she serves as the SP Intelligence and Security in Dehradun.

A Multifaceted Personality

Beyond her professional achievements, Tripti is a multi-faceted individual with a passion for sports. She has consistently excelled in various sporting disciplines, winning gold medals in marathons and state-level badminton competitions. Additionally, she is a skilled practitioner of Taekwondo and Karate, further demonstrating her dedication to physical and mental fitness.

Tripti Bhatt’s story inspires aspiring civil servants to pursue their dreams with unwavering determination and a commitment to making a positive impact on society.
