Marking a transformative leap in India’s Public Distribution System (PDS), Union Minister Pralhad Joshi today unveiled three innovative digital platforms—Depot Darpan Portal, Anna Mitra App, and Anna Sahayata Platform. Designed to enhance transparency, accountability, and citizen engagement, these initiatives aim to uplift the lives of over 81 crore beneficiaries under the National Food Security Act.
Speaking at the launch,Joshi emphasized the government’s unwavering mission to reach the last man standing, ensuring that even the most marginalized citizens benefit from welfare schemes. He lauded the massive food support rolled out during the COVID-19 pandemic and reiterated the success of PM Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana.
Depot Darpan: A Digital Game-Changer
The Depot Darpan Portal empowers food grain depot officials to self-assess and upgrade operations through a dynamic rating system based on infrastructure and performance. Equipped with IoT sensors, CCTV surveillance, and real-time analytics, the portal is expected to save ₹275 crore in FCI depots and generate ₹140 crore income in CWC warehouses by optimizing storage and operations.
Anna Mitra: Empowering PDS Stakeholders
The Anna Mitra app, launched for FPS dealers, food inspectors, and district officers, brings real-time access to stock data, alerts, and inspection reports. Currently piloted in Assam, Uttarakhand, Tripura, and Punjab, the app is available in Hindi and English.
Anna Sahayata: Fast-Track Grievance Redressal
With an ambitious citizen-first approach, Anna Sahayata simplifies grievance filing through WhatsApp, IVRS, and speech recognition, providing quick solutions to PMGKAY beneficiaries. Piloted in five states, the platform ensures transparency and accountability in food grain distribution.
Towards Viksit Bharat Through Digital Inclusion
The initiative, aligned with the Digital India vision, represents a bold step towards creating a digitally empowered, citizen-centric PDS. With smart tech, multilingual interfaces, and transparent operations, these platforms are set to redefine welfare delivery in India.
