Kerala schools have once again proved their academic and institutional excellence by securing several top positions in the 19th edition of the EducationWorld India School Rankings (EWISR) 2025–26, released on Monday. Five schools from the state made it to the national top 10 list across multiple categories, highlighting Kerala’s strong standing in India’s education landscape.

Government Schools Lead the Way
The Government VHSS for Girls, Nadakkavu, Kozhikode, retained its all-India second rank in the prestigious ‘State Government Day Schools’ category, maintaining its consistent record of excellence.

Meanwhile, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV), Chennithala, Alappuzha, continued to stand tall by securing the eighth position in the ‘Central Government Boarding Schools’ category, despite a slight drop from its sixth rank last year.

Kendriya Vidyalayas and Army Schools Excel
Among the ‘Central Government Day Schools’, Kendriya Vidyalaya, Pattom, Thiruvananthapuram, secured the ninth spot, slightly lower than its seventh rank last year but still among the best in the country. Other schools from the state making their mark included:

Navy Children School, Kochi – Rank 12

Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 2, Naval Base, Kochi – Rank 18

Army Public School, Pangode, Thiruvananthapuram – Rank 29

Private Schools Make Strong Impact
Kerala’s private institutions also shone in the rankings. Pallikoodam, Kottayam, secured the fourth position in the ‘Co-ed Day-cum-Boarding Schools’ group, slightly slipping from its earlier third rank but still among India’s best. Other institutions in this group included:

The Choice School, Kochi – Rank 17

Montfort School, Chinnakanal – Rank 36

Delhi Public School, Kollam – Rank 37

Kuriakose Elias English Medium School, Kottayam – Rank 37

In the international category, Sadhbhavana World School, Kozhikode, made impressive progress by climbing to the sixth rank among ‘International Day-cum-Boarding Schools,’ up from ninth last year. Other international schools from Kerala that featured included:

The White School International, Kozhikode – Rank 12

Trivandrum International School – Rank 19

Dawn International School, Kochi – Rank 30

City-Level Stars
According to EWISR city rankings, Kerala’s leading ‘Co-ed Day Schools’ included Navajeevan Bethany Vidyalaya (Thiruvananthapuram), Viswajyothi Public School, Angamaly (Ernakulam), Lord’s Academy (Thrissur), and Face International School, Kalarikandy (Kozhikode).

About the Rankings
The EWISR 2025–26 survey, conducted by EducationWorld magazine in partnership with AZ Research Partners Pvt. Ltd., evaluated 4,500 schools across 518 Indian cities and towns. Rankings were based on 15 parameters of educational excellence, including academic reputation, infrastructure, student well-being, teaching standards, and community service.
