Greater Noida is set to witness a burst of vibrant calendula flowers across its major roads, roundabouts, and green belts as the Greater Noida Authority gears up for its annual four-day Flower Show, scheduled to begin on February 26. This year, the authority has chosen Calendula as the central theme flower, aiming to enhance the city’s visual appeal ahead of the grand event.
On the directions of Authority CEO N.G. Ravi Kumar, the Horticulture Department has been instructed to plant calendula flowers at prominent city locations well in advance so that they bloom in time for the exhibition.
Major Roads and Roundabouts to Get Floral Makeover
To ensure uniform implementation, the Authority held a high-level meeting with agencies responsible for the adoption and maintenance of green belts, central verges, and roundabouts across the city. Principal General Manager Sandeep Chandra clearly instructed all agencies to plant calendula saplings at their adopted sites without delay.
The objective is to ensure that the flowers are in full bloom before the Flower Show begins, giving residents and visitors a glimpse of the festival theme across the city.
Strict Timeline and Monitoring Announced
Officials have been directed to complete the plantation work at major locations within the next five days. The Horticulture Department will conduct regular inspections to monitor progress and quality. Authorities have warned that strict action will be taken against agencies showing negligence or failing to meet deadlines.
According to the Authority, Greater Noida currently has:

◆45 green belts
◆17 central verges
All these areas have been given on adoption to various agencies, which are now responsible for planting calendula flowers as per the theme.
Flower Show to Be Held at City Park
The four-day floral exhibition will be organised at Samrat Mihir Bhoj City Park from February 26 to March 1. The event is expected to attract large crowds and showcase a wide variety of flowers, landscape designs, and horticultural creativity.
Officials believe that spreading the theme flower across the city will not only enhance aesthetics but also create excitement among residents ahead of the much-awaited Flower Show.
