In a fresh boost to sports infrastructure and youth development in the NCR, the foundation stone of the Shaheed Bhagat Singh Khelo Yuva Sports Park was laid on Saturday in the Jewar विधानसभा area of Greater Noida. The ceremony was led by Dhirendra Singh, who announced that the park will be developed at a cost of approximately ₹1.5 crore.
The upcoming sports park is being seen as another important addition to the rapidly transforming Jewar region, especially in the backdrop of large-scale infrastructure projects such as the Noida International Airport. Local residents welcomed the initiative and expressed gratitude to the विधायक for prioritising youth-focused development.
Focus on Youth, Sports, and Self-Reliance
Addressing the gathering, Dhirendra Singh said the Shaheed Bhagat Singh Khelo Yuva Sports Park will serve as a dedicated platform for young people to engage in sports, improve physical fitness, and build self-confidence. He added that the park is envisioned not just as a recreational space, but as a talent-nurturing hub that can help identify and groom future athletes from the region.
According to him, facilities created under the park will encourage disciplined lifestyles among youth and keep them connected to constructive activities. The project aligns with broader efforts to make sports an integral part of community development.

Jewar’s Rapid Transformation Highlighted
The MLA highlighted that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Jewar has emerged as one of the fastest-developing constituencies in the state and the country over the past nine years. He said consistent policy support, transparent governance, and a “double-engine government” approach have accelerated development across sectors such as roads, education, healthcare, industry, and now sports.
The MLA expressed confidence that the sports park would help local players showcase their talent at state, national, and even international levels, bringing recognition to Jewar and Greater Noida.
Local Participation and Community Support
The foundation-laying ceremony witnessed the presence of local leaders and community representatives, including Jewar Block Pramukh Munni Devi Pahadiya and village Bhavokara representatives. The participation of residents underscored strong community support for the project, which is expected to enhance both the social and physical infrastructure of the area.
Once completed, the Shaheed Bhagat Singh Khelo Yuva Sports Park is expected to become a key public space for youth engagement, fitness, and grassroots sports development in the airport-influenced growth corridor of Greater Noida.
