Greater Noida-based Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has taken a major and forward-looking decision aimed at strengthening the education infrastructure in its region. In its 88th board meeting, the authority approved the establishment of a Chief Minister Model Composite School in the Yamuna Authority area.
The proposed school will provide education from pre-primary to Class 12 and is expected to significantly benefit students from nearby rural and semi-urban areas.

6 Acres of Land Allotted at Just Re 1 Per Square Metre
During the meeting, YEIDA decided to allot 6 acres of land to the Basic Education Department of the Uttar Pradesh government at a nominal rate of just Re 1 per square metre. The land will fall under the institutional category and has been reserved exclusively for the Chief Minister Model Composite School.
Officials clarified that the allotted land cannot be transferred to any other institution and must be used only for setting up the proposed school. This condition has been imposed to ensure the project remains focused solely on public education.

Modern Education Facilities for Local Students
The Chief Minister Model Composite School is envisioned as a modern educational institution equipped with smart classrooms, science laboratories, a library, sports facilities, and digital learning infrastructure.
The initiative aims to provide high-quality education to students within the Yamuna Authority region, reducing the need for families to send children to distant schools. Thousands of students are expected to benefit directly from this project.

No Extension for OTS Scheme
The board meeting also addressed the One-Time Settlement (OTS) scheme. Authorities confirmed that the scheme’s deadline will not be extended further. Despite being launched seven times, the scheme has seen limited response, with only around 117 to 177 applications received so far.
The final date for applications remains February 28, after which the scheme will be formally closed.

Discussion on Master Plan 2031
The board also discussed the Draft Master Plan 2031 (Phase-2) for YEIDA’s notified areas falling outside the National Capital Region, including Agra, Mathura, Hathras, and Aligarh districts.
Approval was granted to invite public objections and suggestions for the Agra Urban Centre under the master plan, marking an important step toward long-term regional planning.

Balancing Education and Regional Development
YEIDA officials stated that the approval of the Chief Minister Model Composite School is not merely an educational initiative but a strategic move toward balanced regional development. The project is expected to raise educational standards while supporting planned urban growth in the Yamuna Expressway region.
