In a key administrative move, the Uttar Pradesh government has approved the relocation of the deputy registrar’s office from Ghaziabad to Noida. The decision is expected to streamline operations for Gautam Budh Nagar (GB Nagar), though the exact location of the new office in Noida is yet to be finalised.
The current office operates near Guldhar Metro Station in Ghaziabad.
What Does the Deputy Registrar’s Office Handle?
The deputy registrar’s office plays a crucial role in:
●Registration and regulation of societies
●Administration of partnership firms
●Oversight of chit funds under state laws
●Management and compliance monitoring of Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs)
Since 2023, Ghaziabad and Gautam Budh Nagar have shared one deputy registrar post. Prior to that, society-related matters were handled from Meerut.
Official Approval and Renaming
Acting on a proposal from the UP registrar’s office, the state government approved the relocation along with renaming the office to reflect its new base in Noida.
In an order dated February 13, Special Secretary Shiv Singh informed the registrar of the Governor’s approval. While the official correspondence address will now shift to GB Nagar, all other terms of the earlier arrangement will remain unchanged.

No Disruption for Ghaziabad Residents
Deputy Registrar Vaibhav Kumar clarified that weekly sittings in Ghaziabad will continue to prevent inconvenience to applicants and office-bearers in the district.
However, all official communication and departmental correspondence will now be routed through the Noida office.
The shift is expected to improve administrative efficiency in Gautam Budh Nagar, especially given the rapid growth of RWAs, housing societies and commercial establishments in the region.
