After continuous reports of people falling ill due to suspected contaminated drinking water in several sectors, the Greater Noida Authority has initiated a major inspection drive to check water supply, sewer lines, and drainage systems across the city.
Acting on the directions of Greater Noida Authority CEO N.G. Ravi Kumar, the administration has formed eight inspection teams working work-circle wise. The inspection campaign will continue for four consecutive days, covering residential sectors, societies, and key infrastructure points.
Special lab teams deployed for random testing
To strengthen the monitoring process, the authority has also deployed two independent teams from Shriram Institute for Industrial Research Laboratory. These teams have started conducting random water quality tests at multiple locations.
On the first day alone, more than 20 locations were inspected. The lab teams are carrying testing equipment such as TDS meters, pH meters, and chlorine testing kits to assess water quality on the spot.
Initial findings show water within standards
According to officials, the preliminary inspection results indicate that the water supply currently meets prescribed quality standards. No major irregularities have been found so far in parameters such as chlorine levels and pH balance.
However, officials clarified that detailed laboratory analysis is still underway, and final conclusions will be drawn only after receiving the complete test reports.
CEO orders checks on entire water network
Taking complaints of contaminated water supply seriously, CEO N.G. Ravi Kumar has directed teams to conduct random checks of water pipelines, sewer connections, drainage points, leakages, sewer blockages, and overflow locations across Greater Noida.
The inspection teams from the water and sewer department, including managers and assistant managers, were immediately mobilised to carry out the directive.

Areas covered during inspection
Inspection teams have already visited Sector 1, 2, 4, 16, 16B, Knowledge Park-3, Ireo Sampoorna Society, Ace City, and Panchsheel Hynish.
Meanwhile, Shriram Lab teams collected samples from Delta-1 (D Block), Delta-3 (F Block), Alpha-1 (D Block), Beta-2 (F Block), Gamma-1, Eta-1, Theta, and Chi-4, including underground reservoirs and pumping stations.
Lab report awaited
The authority has asked Shriram Institute to submit the test report at the earliest. The laboratory has indicated that the complete testing process may take 10 to 12 days.
Authority reiterates commitment to clean water
Greater Noida Authority Additional CEO Sunil Kumar Singh stated that the administration is fully committed to ensuring safe and clean drinking water for residents. He urged citizens to immediately report any instance of dirty or foul-smelling water.

Residents advised to stay alert
