After Years of Neglect, Noida Authority Starts Major Upgrade of Dadri Road

In a significant move to improve urban mobility and revive commercial activity, the Noida Authority has begun reconstruction of a crucial 4.5-kilometre stretch of Dadri Road beneath the Bhangel Elevated Corridor. The long-neglected stretch, which suffered severe damage during the elevated corridor’s construction, is now set for a complete overhaul.
Officials confirmed that the authority will spend approximately Rs 35 crore on the project. The work is being executed by the UP State Bridge Corporation Limited (UPSBCL) and is expected to be completed within the targeted timeline.

Damaged During Elevated Corridor Construction
The road stretch had deteriorated significantly during the construction of the Bhangel elevated road. With heavy machinery movement, diversions, and prolonged construction activities, the surface was left uneven and broken, causing daily inconvenience to commuters.
Although the elevated corridor has now been completed and opened for public use, the damaged ground-level road continued to affect traffic flow and safety. The reconstruction aims to restore smooth vehicular movement and eliminate bottlenecks that have troubled residents for years.

Relief for Commuters and Daily Traffic
Dadri Road is one of the busiest arterial routes in Noida, witnessing heavy movement of private vehicles, commercial transport, and public buses. Thousands of commuters use this stretch daily, particularly those travelling between Bhangel, Salarpur, and nearby sectors.
Once completed, the revamped road is expected to significantly reduce traffic congestion, improve travel time, and enhance overall road safety. Authorities believe that the upgrade will complement the elevated corridor and streamline traffic movement across the region.

Boost for Bhangel and Salarpur Markets
Beyond traffic relief, the project carries major economic importance. The Bhangel and Salarpur markets, located along both sides of the stretch, have suffered heavily due to broken roads and prolonged construction over the past several years.
Local traders said business activity declined sharply, forcing many shopkeepers to relocate. With improved road conditions and smoother access, commercial activity is expected to revive.
Residents and traders have welcomed the reconstruction, expressing hope that the long-awaited upgrade will restore normalcy and boost local businesses.
