Residents of a city sector have raised serious concerns over deteriorating civic infrastructure, warning that broken pavements and persistent sewage issues are turning daily life into a struggle — especially for children and senior citizens. Pedestrians Forced Onto Busy Roads According to locals, most footpaths in the area are either damaged, encroached upon, or completely missing, forcing pedestrians to walk on roads alongside fast-moving traffic. “Most of the pavements are either broken or entirely absent. People, including elderly residents and schoolchildren, have no choice but to walk on the carriageway,” said Puneet Pahwa, general secretary of the Sector 45 RWA.…
In a major push to expand planned urban development, the Haryana Shehri Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP) has unveiled an ambitious plan to procure vast stretches of land across Gurugram, Faridabad and adjoining regions. Gurgaon’s ageing sector markets may soon witness a long-awaited transformation, as the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) moves forward with redevelopment plans for 20 markets transferred from HSVP in 2025. Most projects are currently in planning stages, involving cost estimates, technical studies, and administrative approvals. Parking, Toilets, Lighting and Landscaping on the…

A major signal of this shift came when top global business leaders and industrialists began purchasing apartments worth hundreds of crores in premium projects such as DLF’s super-luxury developments. Industry insiders say these landmark deals are not isolated —…
Facing a severe manpower shortage and maintenance challenges, the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has approved a renewed partnership with Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs) to manage neighborhood parks across the capital. The move brings back a previously discontinued policy under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) framework. RWAs to Adopt Local Parks Under the new plan, RWAs can formally adopt parks in their areas and take responsibility for upkeep, including cleanliness, gardening, and basic maintenance. In return, MCD will pay a monthly maintenance grant of ₹13,500 per acre to the participating associations. Officials say the initiative aims to improve park conditions while…
The National Green Tribunal (NGT) has strongly reprimanded the Delhi Pollution Control Committee (DPCC) for failing to comply with its earlier order for over a year, calling the delay “wholly unreasonable and unacceptable.” The tribunal imposed a penalty of Rs 50,000 on the pollution watchdog while warning that continued non-compliance could invite prosecution of top officials. Delay Attributed to Office Shift Rejected DPCC had submitted that the delay in transferring funds to the Department of Forest and Wildlife, Government of NCT Delhi, occurred due to relocation of its office. However, the tribunal dismissed the explanation outright, noting that administrative issues…
