New Delhi is set to take a major step toward humane and systematic management of stray dogs with the development of a mega dog shelter in Moti Bagh, capable of housing more than 500 dogs at a time. The initiative, undertaken by the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC), aims to strengthen animal welfare infrastructure while addressing growing public concerns over stray dog safety and management in the capital. Delhi is once again facing a serious water crisis as a sudden spike in ammonia levels in the Yamuna River has forced authorities to reduce water supply by 25 to 50 per cent across several parts of the capital.
