Commuters travelling from Noida to nearby NCR cities can expect smoother and more reliable journeys starting February, as the transport department plans to increase the number of bus trips on major intercity routes. The move is aimed at reducing overcrowding, cutting waiting time, and improving overall connectivity between Noida and neighbouring districts.
The new arrangement is expected to be implemented in the first week of February, with special focus on high-demand routes where passengers currently struggle to find timely bus services during peak hours.
Meerut and Bulandshahr Routes to See Maximum Impact
According to transport officials, the Meerut and Bulandshahr routes will benefit the most from the revised plan. At present, around 24 buses operate daily on the Noida–Meerut route, while nearly 20 additional buses from other routes also pass through Meerut. Similarly, 12 buses currently run between Noida and Bulandshahr.
With passenger numbers steadily increasing, especially during morning and evening peak hours, authorities have decided to increase the number of trips (rounds) on these routes rather than merely adding new buses. This is expected to ease congestion and ensure more regular service.
Noida Depot Operating 188 Buses Across Multiple Routes
The Noida bus depot currently has 188 operational buses, including standard and CNG-fuelled vehicles. These buses connect Noida with major cities such as Agra, Mathura, Etah, Kasganj, Badaun, Hathras, Bijnor, Lucknow, Bareilly, Haridwar, Kotdwar, Dehradun, Meerut, and several other destinations.
Many buses also operate via the Kaushambi (Ghaziabad) depot, further strengthening Noida’s intercity and NCR connectivity.

Growing Passenger Load Drives Expansion Plan
UP Transport Corporation’s Gautam Buddh Nagar Regional Manager Manoj Kumar said that the Noida depot currently serves 29,000 to 30,000 passengers daily, a number that is expected to rise further during the summer season.
“Passenger movement from Noida to neighbouring cities has been increasing every year. Keeping future demand in mind, we are strengthening route management and increasing bus trips on busy corridors,” he said.
Reduced Waiting Time, Better Travel Experience
Officials believe that increasing bus frequency rather than overcrowding existing services will:
●Reduce rush-hour congestion
●Cut long waiting times at bus stops
●Improve punctuality and reliability
●Offer a more comfortable commute for daily travellers
With Noida emerging as a major residential and employment hub in NCR, the enhanced bus services are expected to play a crucial role in improving public transport accessibility.
