Gurugram is set to strengthen its electric mobility ecosystem as the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) has identified 20 locations across the city for new electric vehicle (EV) charging stations. The initiative forms part of the city’s broader air-pollution control strategy aimed at promoting cleaner transportation options.
Officials said the plan was finalised after a detailed survey focusing on areas with high public movement to ensure maximum usage and accessibility.
Chargers to Come Up at High-Footfall Public Spots
The proposed charging stations will be installed near markets, parks, community centres, and major intersections — places where vehicles typically remain parked for longer durations.
Key locations identified include Subhash Chandra Park, community centres in Sectors 4, 47, and Dundahera, as well as busy commercial areas such as:
Sector 29 Market
Sector 56 Market
Sector 34 Marble Market
Sector 15 Part-2 Market
Sector 23A HUDA Market
Sector 9, 10, and 31 Markets
Officials believe these sites will provide convenient access for both residents and commercial users.
Part of Air-Pollution Action Plan
The EV charging rollout is aligned with Gurugram’s clean air roadmap, which emphasises reducing vehicular emissions — one of the major contributors to urban pollution.
By improving charging availability, authorities aim to remove one of the biggest barriers to EV adoption: range anxiety. Easy access to charging infrastructure is expected to encourage more residents to switch from petrol and diesel vehicles to electric alternatives.
Supporting the Shift to Sustainable Mobility
With the number of electric cars, scooters, and delivery vehicles steadily increasing in the NCR region, infrastructure development has become critical. Officials said strategically placing chargers in public areas will support daily commuters, ride-hailing services, and commercial fleets.
The move also complements national and state policies promoting electric mobility as part of climate and sustainability goals.

Toward a Greener Urban Future
Civic authorities emphasised that expanding the EV charging network is essential for building a future-ready transport system. As Gurugram continues to grow as a major corporate and residential hub, sustainable mobility solutions are becoming increasingly important.
Once operational, the new charging stations are expected to significantly improve convenience for EV users while contributing to reduced pollution levels across the city.
