Bodaki Set to Become NCR’s Next Big Railway Terminal

A long-pending infrastructure dream in Greater Noida is finally moving toward reality. The proposed expansion of Bodaki Railway Station is back on track after major land acquisition hurdles were resolved, paving the way for one of NCR’s most ambitious transport projects.
Authorities now expect rapid progress as local communities show willingness to cooperate, unlocking the project’s biggest bottleneck.

A New Transport Powerhouse in the Making
The Bodaki project is not just a station upgrade—it is part of a larger vision under the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor.
The plan is to build a multi-modal transport hub integrating rail, metro, and bus networks into one seamless ecosystem.
Once completed, this hub will significantly reduce dependence on overcrowded Delhi railway stations while improving connectivity across NCR and beyond.

Massive Expansion: 13 Platforms, 267 Acres
The scale of expansion reflects the project’s importance.
The existing station will be transformed with:
●13 new platforms
●Expansion toward the Khurja line
●Total railway area increasing to around 267 acres
Officials believe Bodaki could emerge as a major alternative terminal for NCR, capable of handling large passenger volumes and long-distance train operations.

70 Trains Planned for Eastern Routes
One of the most impactful outcomes of this project is improved rail connectivity to eastern India.
Plans are underway to operate nearly 70 trains connecting:
●Eastern Uttar Pradesh
●Bihar
●West Bengal
This will reduce the burden on Delhi stations and offer direct access to passengers from Greater Noida and nearby regions.

Integrated Hub: Metro, Bus & Rail Under One Roof
The broader transport hub will span around 358 acres, divided into two key zones:
●A transport zone with ISBT, regional bus terminal, and metro connectivity
●A railway zone focused on Bodaki station expansion
●The Noida Metro Aqua Line is also planned to be extended up to Bodaki, ensuring seamless last-mile connectivity.
Supporting infrastructure like skywalks, subways, FOBs, and ROBs will enhance passenger movement within the hub.

Land Acquisition Breakthrough
The project required around 137 acres of land, nearly half of which had residential settlements.
In a major breakthrough, around 1,500 families across seven villages have agreed to provide land, clearing the biggest obstacle that had stalled the project for years.
This agreement has significantly accelerated administrative and execution processes.

Rehabilitation Plan for Affected Families
Development will also focus on resettlement. Around 1,800 families from villages such as Bodaki, Dadri, Tilpata, and Palla will be affected.
Authorities have proposed rehabilitation by allocating plots near the Shiv Nadar University area, ensuring that development does not come at the cost of local livelihoods.

Why This Project Matters
The Bodaki rail hub represents a major shift in NCR’s transport strategy.
With Delhi’s major railway stations already operating under heavy pressure, expanding infrastructure in surrounding regions like Greater Noida is becoming essential.
If executed as planned, Bodaki could emerge as:
●A key rail gateway for western UP
●A strategic link to eastern India
●A modern integrated transport hub for the future

The revival of the Bodaki railway expansion signals a turning point for Greater Noida’s infrastructure growth.
◆ It is not just about adding trains
◆ It is about redefining connectivity, reducing congestion, and building a future-ready transport ecosystem
If timelines are met, Greater Noida could soon become one of NCR’s most important mobility hubs.
