Residents in Noida are facing growing frustration as cooking gas shortages force many households to stand in long queues outside LPG distribution agencies with empty cylinders.
Outside a gas agency in Sector 54, dozens of residents gathered under the harsh sun, hoping to receive their booked LPG cylinders. However, the agency remained shut due to low stock, leaving customers stranded and anxious.
The shortage comes amid disruptions in global LPG supply chains caused by the ongoing tensions in West Asia, particularly the conflict involving Iran, Israel, and the United States.
Residents Waiting for Days for LPG Delivery
Several residents said they had been visiting the gas agency daily for over a week after their bookings were not delivered on time.
One resident waiting in the queue said he had booked his LPG cylinder well in advance and was assured it would be delivered to his home. However, despite repeated visits and inquiries, the delivery has not arrived.
Many families said they are struggling to manage cooking at home as their cylinders have already run empty.
Booking Rules Changed Amid Supply Pressure
Officials said that the booking and delivery rules for LPG cylinders have recently been modified to manage the supply pressure.
According to authorities, customers can now book a new cylinder only after 25 days of receiving their previous delivery, compared to the earlier rule of 21 days.
Residents were informed that cylinders would be delivered according to the booking sequence, and customers would receive a one-time password (OTP) on their registered mobile number before delivery.
Police Deployed to Manage Crowd
As tensions rose among people waiting outside the agency, a small police team was deployed to maintain order and prevent chaos.
Officials monitoring the situation said that supply disruptions have affected several LPG distributors in the region due to the shortage of imported LPG.

Supply Crisis Reflects Global Energy Disruptions
The situation highlights how international conflicts and disruptions in energy supply chains can directly affect daily life for ordinary citizens.
Experts say LPG supply for domestic consumers is being prioritised, but local distribution challenges and delays have created temporary shortages in some areas.
Authorities have urged residents to remain patient while supply systems stabilise and deliveries resume.
