Covid Took Rs 14 Crore, Not His Faith: Rapido Driver’s Story Goes Viral

The Covid-19 pandemic changed lives in ways few could have imagined. For one man, it wiped out nearly everything he had built over years—yet failed to crush his faith or determination.

In a now-viral post shared on social media, a Rapido rider’s story has struck a chord across the internet. During a casual conversation with a passenger, the rider revealed that his family had once run multiple businesses. When Covid hit, lockdowns forced operations to shut overnight. The losses, he said, were devastating—₹13–14 crore vanished as businesses collapsed during the pandemic.

With income streams drying up and no financial cushion left, the family’s stability crumbled. Determined to rebuild, he later tried starting a small startup with a friend. But that effort, too, failed, resulting in another loss of around ₹4 lakh.

Soon, there was nothing left.

“No savings left. All I had was this bike,” the rider reportedly said. With no assets, no backup, and no immediate opportunities, he turned to what he had—his two-wheeler—and began working as a Rapido bike taxi driver, not out of choice, but survival.

What stood out to many was not the fall, but the mindset.
“I’m not giving up. I still believe in God,” he told the passenger.

The post has since sparked widespread discussion online, with users calling it a stark reminder of how brutally the pandemic reshaped lives—often invisibly. Many pointed out how misleading appearances can be, especially when judging someone by their current profession.

“This is why judging people by their current job is trash behavior. You have no idea what they survived,” one user wrote.

Another commented, “Some are still recovering from Covid. Others will never be able to.”

Several users also expressed belief in the rider’s resilience, saying that anyone who once built a multi-crore business has the ability to rebuild again—if circumstances allow.

For now, the rider’s words linger—a quiet testimony to loss, dignity, and unbroken hope in the face of unimaginable setbacks.
