The Delhi government has approved the construction of a mini secretariat in Sector-10, Dwarka, with an estimated investment of Rs 212.91 crore, marking a major step toward strengthening district-level governance and improving public service delivery in the capital. The project is aimed at bringing multiple government departments under one roof, making administrative services more accessible and efficient for residents.

According to officials, the Dwarka mini secretariat will function as a single administrative hub, reducing the need for citizens to travel to multiple offices across the city for routine government work.

Better Coordination, Faster Services for Citizens
The upcoming facility is expected to house key district-level offices, including revenue, administrative, and public welfare departments. By centralising these offices, the government aims to improve inter-departmental coordination, speed up file movement, and reduce delays in decision-making.

Officials said the move would significantly cut down waiting time for services such as certificates, approvals, grievances, and official documentation, which currently require visits to different locations.

Part of a Larger Plan Across All Districts
The Dwarka project is not a standalone initiative. The Delhi government plans to build similar mini secretariats in all 13 revenue districts of the capital over the next two years. The goal is to create a decentralised governance model where citizens can access essential government services closer to their homes.

Senior officials said this approach would also reduce congestion at central secretariat offices and improve administrative efficiency across districts.

Modern Infrastructure With Citizen-Friendly Design
The mini secretariat is expected to feature modern office infrastructure, digital service counters, waiting areas for the public, and improved facilities for differently-abled citizens. Emphasis will be placed on transparency, accessibility, and technology-driven governance.
Planners are also likely to include adequate parking, security arrangements, and eco-friendly features to ensure smooth daily operations.

Strengthening Grassroots Governance
Government sources said the project reflects the administration’s focus on grassroots governance and responsive public administration. With population growth and rising demand for services, district-level infrastructure has become critical for effective governance in Delhi.

Once completed, the Dwarka mini secretariat is expected to serve thousands of residents daily and act as a model for similar projects across the city.
