In a big relief for Delhi-NCR commuters, the Noida Authority has announced the construction of a 400-metre-long modern circular skywalk at the busy Sector-62/63 roundabout, near the Delhi-Meerut Expressway. The project, estimated to cost ₹40 crore, aims to significantly ease traffic congestion and enhance pedestrian safety in the area.
Skywalk Highlights:
Length: 400 meters
Design: Circular structure with iron canopy to protect against rain and heat
Accessibility: Escalators and elevators for senior citizens, women, and differently-abled
Connectivity: Integrated with the existing foot overbridge on the highway
Expert Review: DPR (Detailed Project Report) to be examined by IIT experts
The skywalk is expected to serve over 50,000 pedestrians daily — especially bus passengers from Delhi, Meerut, Ghaziabad, and Noida — helping them avoid chaotic traffic at the key intersection.
Part of a Bigger Vision:
The project is part of Noida Authority’s broader urban mobility plan, which includes:
A 3.5 km model road from Sector-62 to Mamura
Road widening and footpath construction
Area redesign to reduce peak-hour congestion around office zones, residences, and metro stations
The Goal:
To make Noida smarter, safer, and more pedestrian-friendly, while tackling traffic bottlenecks and promoting smoother vehicular flow.
