In one of its largest-ever operations against organised crime, the Delhi Police carried out a massive 48-hour crackdown named ‘Operation Gang Bust’, arresting 854 criminals, including 280 notorious gangsters. The coordinated action sent shockwaves through criminal networks operating across Delhi and neighbouring states.
Multi-State Raids With 9,000 Police Personnel
The operation involved nearly 9,000 Delhi Police personnel, who simultaneously conducted raids at 4,299 locations across Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, Punjab, and Himachal Pradesh. During the operation, more than 6,500 suspects were questioned, leading to the identification and arrest of key members linked to organised crime syndicates.
Huge Seizures of Weapons, Cash, and Drugs
As part of the crackdown, police recovered:
●Over 300 sophisticated weapons
●130 live cartridges
●Around Rs 25 lakh in cash
●A large quantity of narcotics and drugs
Officials said the seizures point to the scale and reach of criminal networks that were operating across state borders.
Targeting Gangsters, Shooters, and Drug Syndicates
According to senior police officials, Operation Gang Bust was aimed at dismantling networks of gangsters, contract shooters, drug traffickers, and organised crime operatives. Interrogation of the arrested accused is expected to lead to more arrests and major disclosures in the coming days.

Relief for Citizens and Traders
The operation has brought significant relief to residents and traders who had been living under fear due to extortion, threats, and violent crimes. Given Delhi’s proximity to multiple state borders, criminals often exploited easy escape routes. The joint, multi-state action has now dealt a strong blow to these gangs, curbing their mobility and influence.
Police Vow Continued Action
Delhi Police has made it clear that this is not a one-time drive. Authorities said similar operations will continue to ensure that criminals are forced to either surrender or leave the region altogether.
