Theme celebrates 75 years of India’s armed forces
This year’s World Book Fair carries a powerful and patriotic theme — 75 years of the glorious journey of India’s armed forces. In line with this theme, a wide range of books on military history, national security, leadership and nation-building have been showcased in English, Hindi and other Indian languages.
Senior officials from the Indian Army, Navy and Air Force are expected to attend several sessions, making the fair a unique blend of literature, history and national pride. Organisers have indicated that more than 50 distinguished guests will participate during the event.
Strong international presence with 35 countries
The global character of the fair has been further strengthened with participation from over 35 countries. Qatar has been named the Guest of Honour, while Spain is the Focus Country this year. Countries such as Russia, Japan, UAE, Iran, Poland, Argentina and Lithuania are also showcasing their literary heritage.
Adding to the international stature of the event, directors of world book fairs from 11 different countries are attending, promoting cross-cultural dialogue and publishing partnerships.
