In a significant step towards strengthening technology-based education, the Noida district administration has announced the expansion of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) labs in government secondary schools.
As part of the initiative, ICT labs have already been established in two schools during the first phase, while four more government secondary schools in the district will receive ICT labs in the second phase. The move aims to connect students with modern technology and enhance their digital learning capabilities.
Boost to Digital and Computer Education
District Inspector of Schools (DIOS) Rajesh Singh said that the introduction of ICT labs will directly benefit students by providing access to computer education and digital tools. With computers and advanced equipment available on campus, students will be able to:
●Learn basic computer skills
●Gain exposure to coding and digital applications
●Use the internet safely and responsibly
●Study through digital content and interactive learning tools
He added that the initiative will significantly improve students’ learning abilities and better prepare them for future academic and professional challenges.
Facilities to Be Provided in Each ICT Lab
Each selected school will be equipped with a fully functional ICT lab featuring:
●Seven desktop computers
●Interactive digital panels
●Web cameras
●Multi-functional printers
●Learning Management System (LMS)
●Wi-Fi routers
These facilities will enable teachers to adopt digital teaching methods, while students will experience a smart classroom learning environment.

Official Guidelines and Infrastructure Requirements
The DIOS further stated that clear instructions have been received from the Director of Secondary Education regarding the implementation of ICT labs. As per the guidelines:
●Schools must provide a separate and secure room for the ICT lab
●Infrastructure must meet safety and operational standards
Officials believe that the initiative will not only improve the quality of education but also ensure that students in government schools receive modern educational facilities comparable to private institutions.
