A major visa fraud racket operating from Gaur City Mall has been exposed, where hundreds of people were allegedly cheated on the pretext of providing overseas work visas. Police have arrested the main accused involved in the scam.
According to officials, the accused had opened an office named Sky Visa Venture inside the mall and promised victims work visas for countries such as Finland, Poland, and Russia.
Victims Charged Up to Rs 1 Lakh for Fake Work Visas
Police said the accused, Saksham Sharma, along with his associate Rajeev Sharma, used to lure people by promising jobs abroad. The gang reportedly charged Rs 80,000 to Rs 1 lakh per person for arranging work visas.
To gain the trust of clients, the accused used to sign formal agreements with them. However, when victims demanded their visas, the accused would send fake visa copies through WhatsApp, claiming that the documents were genuine.
Many victims believed the documents to be authentic and only realised the fraud later.
Scam Exposed After Victims Contacted Embassy
The fraud came to light when some victims contacted the concerned embassies to verify their visas. Embassy officials informed them that the visas were completely fake and had no official validity.
Following complaints from victims, the Uttar Pradesh Police registered a case and launched an investigation.
