But during Mahakumbh 2025, their fleet of 130 boats earned them Rs 50,000-52,000 per boat daily, totaling an unprecedented fortune.
Speaking exclusively with India TV, the family expressed their amazement, saying they had never seen so much money in their lives. Their story even made it to the Uttar Pradesh Assembly, where CM Yogi Adityanath praised their hard work and highlighted how government efforts helped uplift the Nishad community, giving them respect and employment like never before.
