She failed once. She missed success by just 2.5 marks the second time. But on her third attempt, Aashna Chaudhary cracked one of India’s toughest exams—without coaching—securing AIR 116 in UPSC CSE 2022. And now, the social media-savvy IPS officer has taken charge as Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) in Mathura, marking a new chapter in her inspiring journey.
At just 26, Aashna represents the new face of Indian policing—intelligent, resilient, grounded, and connected with the public, both on duty and online.
A Scholar with a Purpose
Born on August 28, 1998, in Pilkhuwa (Hapur district, UP), Aashna’s academic credentials are nothing short of stellar. She scored 96.5% in Class 12, graduated from Lady Shri Ram College (Delhi University), and earned a master’s in International Relations from South Asian University.
She failed her first UPSC attempt in 2020 and narrowly missed the second by a mere 2.5 marks. But in 2022, her perseverance paid off with a strong total of 992/2025 marks, including 827 in the written and 165 in the interview.
Instead of opting for the IAS, Aashna chose the IPS, driven by a passion for law enforcement and justice.
Her New Role: ASP, Mathura
Aashna officially joined as ASP, Mathura, on July 26, 2025, overseeing law and order in the holy city. Her posting comes as part of a wider reshuffle ordered by SSP Shlok Kumar, affecting four officers. With her leadership and clarity of vision, expectations are high.
Power Couple: IPS + IAS
Aashna is married to IAS officer Abhinav Siwach, who secured AIR 12 in the same UPSC year. The duo met during training and are already being celebrated as one of India’s most inspiring civil services couples.
An Influencer in Uniform
With over 2.8 lakh followers on Instagram, Aashna is also one of the most followed IPS officers online. She shares glimpses of her work, fitness routines, motivational content, and personal moments—showcasing the human behind the khaki.
