In a major push to strengthen Delhi–NCR’s transport network, authorities have prepared a new plan to connect the upcoming Noida International Airport (Jewar Airport) directly to Delhi’s Sarai Kale Khan through the Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS). The move is expected to dramatically cut travel time and offer seamless, high-speed connectivity to lakhs of commuters.
The decision comes after an earlier proposal to route the RRTS line via Ghaziabad failed to gain consensus in a high-level meeting. Now, the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) has been tasked with preparing a fresh feasibility report for the newly proposed route.
A Faster, Smarter Route for NCR
The new plan outlines a direct RRTS corridor from Sarai Kale Khan → Noida City Centre → Phase-2 → Surajpur (Greater Noida) → Noida International Airport.
Sarai Kale Khan, already an interchange for RRTS, Metro, and ISBT, will make airport access significantly smoother for Delhi residents.
Once completed, the high-speed rapid rail—running at nearly 100 km/h—will allow passengers to reach Jewar Airport in a fraction of the current time. The project will be a game-changer for residents of Noida, Greater Noida, and Yamuna City, who will benefit from a quicker, more reliable, and congestion-free travel option.

A Race Against Time as Airport Flights Begin Soon
With commercial flights at Noida International Airport expected to begin early next year, the government has accelerated connectivity planning. The new RRTS corridor is seen as an essential long-term link that will support passenger movement, tourism, business travel, and the region’s booming real estate landscape.
NCRTC to Prepare Detailed Feasibility Report
According to Yamuna Authority’s Additional CEO Shailendra Bhatia, the NCRTC is now preparing a feasibility study for the revised corridor. Once completed, the proposal will be forwarded to the Central and State governments for final approval.
“The objective is to ensure fast, modern, and accessible travel to the airport for people across Noida, Greater Noida, and Yamuna City,” Bhatia said.
A Massive Mobility Upgrade for NCR
If approved, the new corridor will integrate Delhi–NCR like never before, easing airport access and reducing dependence on road travel. With traffic congestion a growing concern, the high-speed RRTS promises a sustainable and future-ready solution.
The project not only enhances connectivity but also signals a new era of modern, multi-modal urban transport across North India.
