In a major boost to air connectivity in Uttar Pradesh, direct flight services from Prayagraj to the upcoming Jewar International Airport in Noida are set to begin soon. The service will be operated by IndiGo Airlines, making travel between eastern Uttar Pradesh and the National Capital Region faster and far more convenient.
According to official sources, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has included the Prayagraj–Jewar route in its summer schedule, which will come into effect from the last week of March. The final flight timings will be announced after the formal inauguration of Jewar Airport.
Big Relief for NCR-Bound Passengers
Once operational, the direct flight will significantly benefit passengers travelling from Prayagraj to Noida and Greater Noida, eliminating the need to land at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport and then endure long road journeys due to traffic congestion.
Prayagraj Airport Advisory Committee member Murari Lal Agrawal said that heavy traffic in Delhi often causes long delays for passengers heading to Noida and Greater Noida. “The Jewar Airport will serve as a convenient alternative. A direct flight from Prayagraj will save time and reduce travel stress for thousands of passengers,” he said.

Jewar Airport Emerging as a New Aviation Hub
Jewar International Airport, currently under development, is expected to become one of India’s largest aviation hubs. With airlines gradually adding new routes, the airport is poised to transform regional connectivity and reduce pressure on Delhi’s IGI Airport.
The addition of Prayagraj to Jewar’s flight network highlights the growing importance of the airport in strengthening intra-state and NCR air travel.
