The Greater Noida Authority has taken strict action against illegal construction by sealing eight residential towers in the Kheda Choganpur area. More than 100 flats had been constructed without any official permission or approved building plans, officials said on Thursday.
Despite repeated notices and the registration of an FIR, construction work continued unabated, prompting the authority to carry out sealing operations at the site.
Construction Continued Despite Notices and FIR
According to officials, the illegal towers were built on land falling within the notified area of the Greater Noida Authority. Earlier, notices had been issued to the builders and an FIR was also lodged, but the construction did not stop.
On Thursday, a joint team of the authority reached the site and sealed all eight towers. At the time of sealing, the flats were vacant.
No Approved Map or Permission Taken
The illegal construction was carried out on Khasra number 109 in Kheda Choganpur village. The land falls under the authority’s notified area, where construction without prior approval is strictly prohibited.
Officials confirmed that:
●No layout or building map was approved
●No construction permission was taken
●The project violated planning and land-use norms
The action was carried out on the instructions of the CEO of the Greater Noida Authority.

Senior Officials Oversaw the Operation
The sealing drive was conducted under the supervision of ACEO Sumit Yadav. Senior officials from the land records and project departments were present, along with local police and authority security staff, to ensure smooth execution of the operation.
Authority Issues Strong Warning to Buyers and Builders
The Additional CEO warned that strict action will continue against anyone carrying out unauthorized construction in the notified area. He also appealed to the public to verify all land and property documents before making any purchase.
“People should contact the land records department of the Greater Noida Authority before buying land or flats. Do not invest your hard-earned money in illegal colonies,” the official said.
