Greater Noida is set to emerge as a major hub for advanced medical technology as the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has allotted 10 acres of land to Shukra Pharmaceuticals Limited for setting up a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility at the Medical Devices Park. The project, involving an investment of Rs 587 crore, is expected to generate thousands of employment opportunities and significantly strengthen India’s position in the global medical technology sector.
Officials said the land allotment letter was formally handed over to the company on Tuesday in the presence of YEIDA Chief Executive Officer Rakesh Kumar Singh, Additional CEO Shailendra Bhatia, and senior representatives of Shukra Pharmaceuticals. The project marks a major milestone in the rapid development of the Medical Devices Park, which has been attracting strong interest from domestic and international investors.
Focus on Advanced and Life-Saving Medical Technologies
The upcoming factory will manufacture some of the world’s most advanced life-saving medical technologies, including equipment based on Boron Neutron Capture Therapy (BNCT) — a cutting-edge cancer treatment technique used for complex and critical cancer cases. Officials said this will be among the most advanced facilities of its kind in the country, placing India at the forefront of global healthcare innovation.
Apart from cancer treatment technologies, the plant will also produce a wide range of high-end medical equipment. These include CT scanners, MRI machines, PET scanners, X-ray systems, and ultrasonography machines, strengthening India’s domestic manufacturing capacity in diagnostic imaging.
Boost to Cardiac Care, Critical Care and Medical Robotics
The Medical Devices Park will also witness manufacturing of cardiac implants such as heart valves, stents, and Left Ventricular Assist Devices (LVADs), which are vital for treating severe heart conditions. In the field of critical care, the facility will develop ventilators, oxygen concentrators, anaesthesia systems, and respiratory care solutions for ICUs and operation theatres.
A major highlight of the project is the planned development of medical robotic systems. These will include:
●Soft tissue surgical robots
●Orthopaedic robotic systems with implants
●Dental robotic systems with implants
●Neuro-spine robotic systems
Officials said these technologies will bring higher precision, safety, and innovation to surgical procedures and medical treatment.

Strengthening India’s Healthcare Manufacturing Ecosystem
YEIDA officials said the project aligns with the government’s vision of making India a global manufacturing hub for medical devices and reducing dependence on imports. The facility is expected not only to generate large-scale employment but also to promote research, innovation, and technology transfer in the healthcare sector.
With continuous land allotments and rising investor interest, the Medical Devices Park near the Yamuna Expressway is fast emerging as one of the country’s most important clusters for advanced healthcare manufacturing.
