In a major step to strengthen law enforcement and improve policing efficiency, six new police stations are proposed in Gurugram, with two of them dedicated exclusively to cybercrime. The expansion is aimed at addressing the city’s rapidly growing population, increasing urban density and a sharp rise in digital crimes.
Currently, Gurugram has four cyber police stations — Cyber East, Cyber West, Cyber South and Manesar. With online fraud, identity theft and financial cybercrimes rising steadily, police officials believe additional cyber units are necessary to ensure quicker response and specialised investigation.
Proposed Locations Identified in High-Growth Zones
According to officials, the new police stations are proposed in Sector 93, Sector 46, Gawalpahari and Haileymandi — areas that have witnessed rapid urbanisation, new residential developments and increasing commercial activity in recent years.
Two additional cyber police stations — one each in the east and west zones — are also part of the expansion plan. This move reflects the growing dependence on digital policing tools and the need for focused cybercrime monitoring at the zonal level.
Decision Taken at High-Level Police Meeting
The decision was finalised during a C-level committee meeting held at Police Lines, chaired by Police Commissioner Vikas Arora on Monday. The meeting was attended by deputy commissioners of police from all city zones along with other senior officers.
Officials said senior officers were instructed to coordinate with concerned departments and higher authorities to ensure early identification and allocation of land, infrastructure and resources so that the proposed police stations can be made operational at the earliest.
Strong Focus on Police Welfare and Work-Life Balance
Alongside security preparedness, the committee placed significant emphasis on welfare measures for police personnel and their families, recognising the link between infrastructure, morale and operational efficiency.
As part of these initiatives, a Yogeshwar Vatika has been developed inside the police lines to help personnel relax and adopt a stress-free lifestyle. Additionally, special spaces for senior citizens have been prepared at all three police lines — Gurugram, Manesar and Bhondsi.
Senior Citizen Facilities Near Completion
At the Gurugram police lines, a dedicated rest hall for elderly men and women is nearing completion. Officials said the facility includes:
◆Kota stone flooring
◆Tin shed roofing
◆Storeroom
◆Adequate lighting and fans
◆Iron grills and pipes for security
◆Landscaping with Ashok plant plantations
The police commissioner directed officers to complete remaining works, including stone grinding and installation of flex boards, within 10 days and make the facility fully functional.

Improved Hygiene and Fitness Infrastructure
Cleanliness and hygiene were also discussed in detail. New public toilets for men and women have been constructed behind the administrative block near the parade ground. Officers were further instructed to ensure construction of additional public toilets in other identified locations within one month.
To promote physical fitness, cricket practice nets and synthetic badminton courts have also been developed within the police lines.
Better Facilities, Better Policing
Police Commissioner Vikas Arora underlined that improving facilities for police personnel directly enhances morale, efficiency and service delivery. The expansion of police stations and welfare infrastructure is expected to significantly improve policing standards in Gurugram as the city continues to expand.
