In a blend of spiritual reflection and strategic foresight, Errol Musk—engineer, author, and father of Tesla CEO Elon Musk—visited the ISKCON temple in East of Kailash, New Delhi, on Wednesday, offering prayers and praising India’s rich cultural legacy. The visit came just a day after his trip to the holy city of Ayodhya, where he paid homage at the Ram Janmabhoomi Temple and Hanumangarhi shrine.
Musk, who is currently serving as global advisor to India-based Servotech Power Systems, is on a multi-day tour of the country exploring opportunities in electric mobility and sustainable technology. But his itinerary has also included quiet moments of personal and spiritual engagement.
“I can see why people join the Hare Krishna movement,” Musk said after interacting with ISKCON’s devotees and participating in temple rituals. “There’s warmth, community, and an uplifting energy that’s hard to ignore.”
Spiritual Curiosity Meets Green Vision
Errol Musk’s admiration for India extended beyond temple courtyards. Reflecting on his travels across Uttar Pradesh and the National Capital Region, he described India as “marvellous”—not just for its architectural grandeur and hospitality, but also for its youthful ambition and momentum in the clean energy transition.
As part of his advisory role, Musk visited a solar and electric vehicle manufacturing facility in Haryana, met with policy makers, and discussed the future of EV infrastructure in the Indian market. Speaking at a business roundtable, he remarked, “Electric vehicles are going to be the future everywhere, and India has the scale and the spirit to lead.”
Cultural Engagements Amid Strategic Interests
While the Musk family’s ties to Tesla often dominate headlines, Errol Musk’s India visit has taken a different tone—focused not on corporate deals, but on people, temples, and technology with a social purpose.
His stops in Ayodhya and Delhi’s ISKCON Temple have sparked interest on social media, where videos of him chanting, praying, and engaging with temple priests went viral. ISKCON officials said his visit was “spontaneous and sincere,” adding that Musk spent considerable time understanding the temple’s charitable and educational work.
A Message of Harmony and Possibility
Musk’s tour, marked by a rare combination of devotion and diplomacy, sends a signal of optimism about India’s role in shaping the world’s green future. In an increasingly divided global landscape, his embrace of Indian culture and investment in its sustainable ambitions adds weight to a growing recognition: that India is not just a market, but a model—where spirituality and science can coexist.
Whether Tesla enters India in full force remains to be seen. But for now, the elder Musk has offered something perhaps more powerful: a note of personal admiration, and a public endorsement of India’s potential on the global stage.
