In a remarkable achievement for India’s public health and women’s empowerment, the country has earned three Guinness World Records under the nationwide ‘Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan’, a campaign dedicated to promoting preventive healthcare and nutrition among women. The announcement was made by Union Health Minister JP Nadda in a post on X (formerly Twitter), calling it “a proud stride towards a Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar, and Viksit Bharat.”
A Record-Breaking Health Movement
The ambitious initiative, held from September 17 to October 2, 2025, coincided with Poshan Maah — the national nutrition month — and focused on improving the health and well-being of women, adolescent girls, and children.
Over 19.7 lakh health camps were organized across the country, reaching more than 11 crore people through screenings, nutrition counselling, and medical awareness drives. This massive participation led to the creation of three new Guinness World Records, marking an unprecedented milestone in India’s journey toward community-driven healthcare.

Empowering Women, Strengthening Families
Minister Nadda applauded the collective effort of health workers, volunteers, and citizens, emphasizing that “women’s health is the foundation of a strong family and a prosperous nation.”
The campaign not only focused on nutritional improvement and early disease detection but also promoted the use of technology and local participation for sustainable healthcare access in both rural and urban regions.
By integrating the themes of ‘Swasth Nari’ (Healthy Woman) and ‘Sashakt Parivar’ (Empowered Family), the initiative aligned with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of Viksit Bharat 2047 — an India where health, empowerment, and inclusivity go hand in hand.
A Model for the World
The success of Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan has placed India on the global map for community health innovation. With its vast reach, digital monitoring, and grassroots participation, the programme showcases how public health can become a national movement when government vision and citizen involvement unite.
This achievement not only celebrates India’s health infrastructure but also stands as a testament to the nation’s commitment to women-led development and preventive healthcare.
