In a landmark move to instill patriotism and awareness about India’s defense preparedness, the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) has released two special modules on Operation Sindoor for students from Classes 3 to 12.
The modules highlight India’s strong military response to the Pahalgam terror attack in April 2025, which claimed 26 innocent lives. NCERT has designed the content to narrate the story of courage, discipline, and strategy displayed by the Indian Armed Forces.
Two Modules, One Story of Courage
Preparatory and Middle Stages (Classes 3–8): “Operation Sindoor — A Saga of Valour” opens with engaging classroom activities to simplify the lessons of bravery for younger students.
Secondary Stage (Classes 9–12): “Operation Sindoor — A Mission of Honour and Bravery” delves deeper into India’s defense strategies, modern warfare technologies, and the nation’s rising global role.
Both modules begin with a picture of Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Adampur airbase, symbolizing leadership during crisis.
Unmasking Terror and India’s Response
The NCERT content bluntly states that while Pakistan publicly denied involvement in the Pahalgam attack, it was directly orchestrated by its military and political leadership. Operation Sindoor is presented as a “strong and clear response to the cowardly attack,” carried out with precision across the Line of Control and deeper inside Pakistan.
The modules also touch upon previous major terror strikes, including the Uri attack (2016) and the Pulwama attack (2019), to provide students with a historical perspective of recurring threats to India’s security.
Why This Matters
By introducing these modules, NCERT aims to create awareness among young Indians about the realities of terrorism, national security, and the sacrifices of the armed forces. More importantly, the initiative ensures that future generations understand the cost of peace and the importance of vigilance.
Students, teachers, and parents can access the full Operation Sindoor module directly on the NCERT website.
