Connectivity to the upcoming Noida International Airport (Jewar) is set to improve significantly with the launch of a major road infrastructure project. The ₹40-crore widening and strengthening of the Khurja–Jewar road has officially begun, aiming to make travel safer, faster, and more efficient for commuters across Delhi-NCR and western Uttar Pradesh.

The project was inaugurated with a traditional bhoomi pujan ceremony, led by Jewar MLA Dhirendra Singh, in the presence of local leaders and residents. The ceremony was conducted with Vedic rituals, marking the formal commencement of construction work.

Better Airport Access and Regional Connectivity
Once completed, the upgraded Khurja–Jewar road will play a key role in enhancing access to the Noida International Airport. The route is expected to ease travel not only for airport passengers but also for people commuting between Haryana, Delhi-NCR, and several districts of western Uttar Pradesh.

Officials said the road’s widening and strengthening will significantly reduce travel time, improve traffic flow, and enhance overall road safety in the region.

Economic, Industrial, and Social Benefits
Addressing the gathering, MLA Dhirendra Singh said the project would benefit farmers, traders, industries, and daily commuters alike. Improved connectivity will make it easier for agricultural produce to reach markets, reduce transportation costs, and open up new opportunities for local businesses.

He added that the strengthened road network will help attract investment, accelerate industrial development, and generate employment opportunities for local youth. The project is also expected to support the rapid development of areas surrounding the international airport.

Part of a Larger Infrastructure Push
The MLA emphasized that the road project aligns with the broader vision of the central and state governments to strengthen infrastructure across Uttar Pradesh. He said the initiative reflects Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a Developed India and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s commitment to improving roads, transport, and connectivity in the state.

Local residents welcomed the start of construction and expressed gratitude to the government, stating that the project would bring long-term relief from traffic bottlenecks and boost regional development.
