Max Healthcare, a leading healthcare provider in India, has filed a police complaint against unknown individuals for creating a fake website in its name to solicit kidney sellers online. The website also features the name of Dr. Dinesh Khullar, a doctor associated with the hospital.
Hardik Gandhi filed the complaint on behalf of Max Healthcare Institute Limited, when the group became aware of the fake website a few days ago.
The website claims to be associated with Max Healthcare and solicits people to contact them if they want to sell a kidney. The website also appears when searched on Google, according to the complaint. Max Healthcare, in its complaint, stated that it is strongly against the black market and trafficking of human organs and that the present complaint is intended to uncover those who are using the hospital’s hard-earned reputation and goodwill for fraudulent purposes.
In response to the complaint, an FIR has been registered against unknown individuals under Section 66-C of the IT Act at Cyber Crime, South, Police Station. A senior police officer confirmed that the FIR was registered on Thursday night. Max Healthcare has urged people to be cautious and report any suspicious activity related to the sale of organs online. The hospital has also assured the public that it will take all necessary steps to ensure that such fraudulent activities do not occur.
What Is Fake Kidney Syndicate
The “Fake Kidney Racket” refers to the illegal trade of human kidneys in India. The racket involves the buying and selling of kidneys on the black market, often through illegal means, such as coercion or deception. The victims of this racket are usually poor and vulnerable individuals who are lured into selling their kidneys in exchange for money.
In India, organ transplantation is regulated by the Transplantation of Human Organs and Tissues Act, which prohibits the commercial trade of organs. However, the demand for kidneys far exceeds the supply, leading to a thriving black market for organs. The black market is driven by wealthy individuals who are willing to pay large sums of money for a kidney, often without regard for the ethical and legal implications of their actions.
The fake kidney racket is particularly concerning because it often involves the exploitation of vulnerable individuals, such as homeless people or those in poverty, who are promised large sums of money in exchange for their organs. These individuals are often deceived into believing that the surgery is safe and that they will not suffer any long-term health consequences.
The illegal trade of kidneys has serious health implications for both the sellers and buyers. The surgery is often performed in unsanitary conditions and without proper medical supervision, leading to a high risk of infection and other complications. In addition, the lack of regulation and oversight means that there is no guarantee that the donated kidney will be a suitable match for the recipient, which can lead to organ rejection and other serious health issues.
Efforts have been made to crack down on the fake kidney racket in India, including stricter enforcement of existing laws and increased public awareness campaigns. However, the illegal trade of organs continues to be a major problem in the country, highlighting the need for continued action and reform to address this issue.
The illegal trade of kidneys in India is a serious issue, and it is important to take steps to protect yourself from being lured into a fake kidney racket. Here are some tips to stay safe:
1: Be wary of offers that seem too good to be true: If you are approached with an offer to sell your kidney for a large sum of money, be cautious. Remember that organ transplantation is strictly regulated in India, and commercial trade of organs is illegal. Do not trust offers that seem too good to be true.
2: Seek professional advice: If you are considering selling your kidney, consult with a healthcare professional, such as a doctor or a social worker, who can provide you with unbiased advice and help you understand the potential risks and consequences of the surgery.
3: Do not provide personal information: Be wary of individuals or organizations that ask for your personal information, such as your address, phone number, or medical history, before agreeing to buy your kidney. This information can be used to manipulate or coerce you into selling your organ.
4: Research the organization: If you are considering selling your kidney to an organization, do your research. Check if the organization is registered with the appropriate government authorities, and look for reviews or feedback from other sellers. This can help you avoid fake kidney rackets and organizations that may exploit you.
5: Report suspicious activity: If you come across any suspicious activity related to the illegal trade of organs, such as the solicitation of kidney sellers online, report it to the police or other relevant authorities. This can help prevent others from being victimized by fake kidney rackets.
Remember, selling your kidney is a serious decision that should not be taken lightly. Always prioritize your health and well-being, and seek professional advice before making any decisions.
