While many business dynasties rely on the next generation to take the reins, Jayanti Chauhan’s journey to the top of India’s most iconic bottled water brand wasn’t a straight path. The only daughter of Bisleri International’s visionary founder Ramesh Chauhan, Jayanti initially chose a different course in life. But when the possibility of selling Bisleri to the Tata Group emerged, she made a bold and life-changing decision—to take charge herself and carry forward her father’s legacy.
In late 2022, Bisleri International was in advanced talks with the Tata Group, with the proposed acquisition making headlines. However, the deal fell through. Instead of handing over the reins to an outside entity, Jayanti Chauhan stepped in, not just as a successor, but as a leader ready to innovate and expand the brand.
Now serving as the Vice Chairperson, Jayanti is reshaping the Rs 7,000 crore brand. Under her leadership, Bisleri is venturing into bold new territory with the launch of carbonated beverages such as Rev, Pop, and Spyci Jeera, adding zest to a portfolio already rich with household names like Limonata.
Her leadership comes at a time when the beverage industry is seeing fierce competition. With Reliance reviving nostalgic brands like Campa Cola and Tata introducing new water products after the failed Bisleri deal, Jayanti finds herself leading a homegrown brand against the country’s largest corporate giants—and holding her own with resilience and innovation.
Despite her unconventional academic background in product development, fashion styling, photography, and even Arabic—from institutions in Los Angeles, Milan, and London—Jayanti’s global perspective is now her biggest asset. Her deep understanding of branding, style, and storytelling is breathing fresh life into Bisleri’s legacy.
With strategic focus on sales, marketing, and product development, Jayanti Chauhan isn’t just managing a legacy—she’s redefining it. From a hesitant heir to a fearless leader, she’s proving that strong women don’t just inherit empires—they build new ones.
