In a major relief for daily commuters, the Noida Authority has approved road repair and drainage works worth nearly Rs 16 crore across several busy roads, markets and residential sectors of the city. The initiative aims to improve traffic movement, restore damaged road surfaces and address long-standing issues of waterlogging and pedestrian safety, especially ahead of the upcoming monsoon season.
Officials said the works will focus on repairing uneven road stretches, covering open drains and preventing roads from narrowing due to encroachments and informal parking.
DSC Corridor to See Maximum Work
One of the largest projects under the plan will be carried out along the busy DSC corridor, covering Sectors 47, 48, 100 and 107. Service roads from the DSC T-point towards Sky Mark Mall, the Vodamahadev junction and several 18-metre and 24-metre internal roads will be resurfaced.
Authorities have also identified uneven road levels near traffic signals, where sudden slowing down of vehicles often causes congestion and minor accidents. These stretches will be repaired to ensure smoother traffic flow. The DSC corridor project alone is estimated to cost around Rs 14.6 crore.
Repairs Across Residential and Market Areas
Apart from the DSC corridor, repair work will be carried out on roads in Kailash Road, Gijhore, ESI Road and sectors 22, 23, 24, 52, 53, 61 and 70. The plan includes filling potholes, repairing damaged tiles, repainting central verges and fixing footpaths.
Officials said these smaller but crucial works will help prevent gradual road narrowing caused by broken edges, illegal parking and encroachments. These repairs are expected to cost close to Rs 1 crore.
Open Drains to Be Covered for Safety
A major concern for pedestrians has been open and damaged drains along busy roads. In Sector 32A, near Logix Mall, an exposed drain that frequently causes waterlogging and forces pedestrians onto the road will be covered with concrete slabs. This Rs 7-lakh project aims to restore road width and ensure safer walking space.
Similarly, along the MP-3 road near the Morna green belt, an open drain and eroded road edge have made the stretch risky near an intersection. The Authority plans to cover the drain and strengthen the roadside at a cost of around Rs 12 lakh.

Drain Repairs to Prevent Monsoon Damage
Drain maintenance and repairs are also planned in Sector 8 and Aghapur village. The work includes concrete repairs, mesh fixing and culvert restoration so that rainwater flows properly instead of spilling onto roads. These projects are expected to cost around Rs 56 lakh.
Focus on Safety and Smooth Traffic
Officials said the overall objective is to make existing roads safer and smoother by fixing faults that often lead to traffic jams, accidents and waterlogging during rains. The Authority has directed teams to complete the work in a time-bound manner to minimise inconvenience to residents.
Once completed, the projects are expected to significantly improve driving conditions, pedestrian movement and overall traffic flow across Noida.
