In a major step towards tackling the long-standing waste problem near the Noida–Greater Noida Expressway, the Noida Authority has invited fresh applications from agencies to clear the massive garbage dump located in Sector-145. The waste disposal work is expected to begin from February 2026, officials said.
According to authority officials, a new tender has been issued, and interested agencies can submit their applications till January 8. The selected company will be required to set up a waste processing plant within one month of selection.
300 Tonnes of Waste to Be Processed Daily
Under the project, the agency will install a Compressed Bio-Gas (CBG) plant, capable of processing 300 tonnes of waste per day. The plant will operate for a period of 20 years, during which it will handle both the existing legacy waste and the fresh waste generated daily.
The proposed plant will be set up either at Astoli village or Sector-145, where nearly seven lakh tonnes of garbage has accumulated over the years along the expressway embankment.

Bio-Gas and RDF to Be Generated
Officials said the waste will be scientifically processed to generate bio-gas and Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF), helping reduce environmental damage and control foul odour in the area. The move is expected to significantly improve air quality and cleanliness along the busy expressway stretch.
Earlier Tender Failed to Meet Standards
The authority had earlier floated a tender for the same project, but agencies that applied failed to meet the required technical and financial standards. As a result, the waste clearance process remained stalled for several months.
“With the fresh tender, we aim to ensure effective and sustainable waste management at the site,” an official said.
The initiative is part of Noida Authority’s broader plan to strengthen solid waste management and reduce the environmental impact of legacy garbage dumps across the city.
