Industries in Noida and Greater Noida are beginning to feel the impact of global geopolitical tensions as disruptions in commercial gas supply have forced several factories to temporarily halt operations.
According to industry representatives, the crisis has emerged amid the ongoing tensions between the United States and Iran, which have affected global energy supply chains.
Industrial Bodies Raise Concern Over Gas Shortage
A delegation from the Industrial Entrepreneurs Association (IEA) recently met Medha Rupam and submitted a memorandum highlighting the growing crisis faced by industries due to irregular gas supply.
The association informed the district administration that many industrial units are facing operational difficulties because commercial gas cylinders are not being supplied regularly.
Industry leaders urged the administration to intervene and ensure a steady supply of gas to prevent further disruption in manufacturing activities.
Factories Forced to Halt Production
According to IEA officials, several manufacturing units have already been forced to temporarily suspend production because of the shortage.
Sanjeev Sharma said that irregular gas supply is causing serious financial strain on industries.
“Many factories are forced to stop production temporarily due to the lack of gas supply. Despite halted production, industries still have to pay employee salaries, factory rent and bank instalments,” he said.
The disruption has also affected supply commitments to customers, increasing financial pressure on industrial units.
Concerns Over Possible Black Marketing
The industry body also raised concerns about the possibility of black marketing of commercial gas cylinders.
According to the association, several dealers are not supplying adequate quantities of gas to industrial units, which could lead to irregular distribution and unfair pricing in the market.
Industry representatives have urged authorities to monitor the supply chain closely and take strict action against any irregularities.

Industries Seek Immediate Government Intervention
The IEA has requested the district administration to coordinate with gas suppliers and ensure that industries receive a regular and sufficient supply of commercial gas.
Industry leaders warned that if the supply situation does not improve quickly, more factories may be forced to stop operations, leading to economic losses and potential employment concerns.
Several members of the association, including PK Tiwari, Vivek Chauhan, PS Mukherjee, MP Shukla, GS Tulli, Pawan Garg and Mahipal Chauhan, were present during the meeting with the district administration.
