A shocking incident of road harassment in Noida has once again raised serious concerns about women’s safety in public spaces. A man driving an SUV was arrested after a video showing him making lewd gestures and blowing flying kisses at women from his car went viral on social media.
The incident reportedly took place near the Parthala Bridge area. The 17-second clip, recorded by one of the women, shows the accused repeatedly gesturing obscenely, waving exaggeratedly, and pointing towards the camera while following the women’s vehicle. Another man was seen sitting in the back seat of the SUV.
Video Goes Viral, Police Take Swift Action
As the video gained traction online, Noida Police took suo motu cognisance of the matter. Acting swiftly, police identified and arrested both occupants of the SUV, who are residents of Sector 135. The vehicle used in the incident was also seized.
Officials confirmed that the accused had followed the women for a considerable distance, which intensified the sense of fear and harassment. Police said strict action was taken to send a strong message that such behaviour will not be tolerated on city roads.
Public Anger Over Women’s Safety
The incident triggered widespread outrage on social media platforms, with users calling it blatant harassment and street-level intimidation. Many questioned how such acts are carried out openly on busy roads without fear of consequences.
Several users tagged Noida Police and Uttar Pradesh Police, demanding strict punishment to deter similar behaviour. Commentators highlighted that harassment during daily commutes often goes unreported despite being deeply traumatising for victims.

Pattern of Repeated Incidents Raises Alarm
This case has reignited debate around women’s safety in fast-growing urban centres like Noida. It also follows a similar episode reported recently, where a social media influencer alleged that unidentified men followed and harassed her car during a late-night drive.
Experts and citizens alike are calling for zero tolerance, faster police response, and stronger enforcement against harassment on roads. Many believe visible action and swift arrests are crucial to restoring public confidence and ensuring safer streets.
