Noida Medical Device Park (MDP), located in Sector-28, is set to witness a major transformation with the development of a state-of-the-art Gamma Radiation Centre along with 12 high-end scientific and technology laboratories, marking a significant step toward strengthening India’s medical device manufacturing ecosystem.

Officials from the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) confirmed that a private agency will be selected to operate these laboratories and maintain sophisticated equipment, ensuring professional management, safety compliance, and long-term sustainability.

Partnership with Atomic Energy Body BRIT
To develop the Gamma Radiation Centre, YEIDA will sign a strategic partnership with the Board of Radiation and Isotope Technology (BRIT), an organisation under India’s atomic energy ecosystem, on January 8 in Mumbai. BRIT will provide technical expertise and ensure strict adherence to radiation safety and international standards.

Gamma Radiation Centres are capital-intensive and technologically complex. However, officials said the public–private partnership model will make the project economically viable while maintaining world-class technical robustness.

Infrastructure Development Gaining Momentum
The Medical Device Park is also developing six Common Scientific Facility Centres (CSFs). Of these, five CSFs are nearly complete, along with the fully constructed administrative building. The Gamma Radiation Centre and Bio-Material Testing Facility (CSF-6) are currently in the planning stage.

So far, over 100 industrial plots have been allotted, with construction underway at more than seven sites. One company has already begun production, which was formally inaugurated on September 22, 2025. Authorities estimate that over 200 medical device manufacturing companies will eventually operate from the park.

12 Advanced Labs Planned at MDP

The upcoming laboratories include:
●3D Design, Rapid Prototyping & Tooling Lab
●Internet of Medical Technology (IoMT) Lab
●Electronic Assembly Facility
●Bio-Material Testing Facility
●Common IT Facility
●Common Tooling Room
●Electronic System & Design Facility
●Mechatronics Zone
●Electronic Calibration & Testing Facility
●Sensor Testing & Integration Facility
●Digital Display Zone
●AI, ML & High-Performance Computing Lab
These labs will support innovation, testing, certification, and product development, especially for startups and MSMEs.

Beyond Manufacturing: A Complete Industrial Ecosystem
The Medical Device Park will also feature incubation and exhibition centres, warehouses, food courts, and recreational facilities, creating a comprehensive industrial and innovation ecosystem.

YEIDA Additional CEO Shailendra Bhatia confirmed that stakeholders recently agreed on outsourcing lab operations to a private agency and reiterated that the upcoming BRIT agreement will ensure the Gamma Radiation Centre meets global safety and quality benchmarks.
