Parking Norms Violated? RWA Flags Traffic Chaos Near Green City Hospital

Residents of Delta-1 Sector in Greater Noida have raised strong objections against the functioning of Green City Hospital, alleging that the hospital is operating without the mandatory parking facilities required under Greater Noida Authority norms. The issue has triggered daily traffic congestion and inconvenience for local residents, prompting the Residents’ Welfare Association (RWA) to formally approach the authority.
According to the rules, hospitals are not permitted to operate without adequate parking arrangements. However, residents claim that Green City Hospital has been functioning despite having no designated parking space for patients, staff, or visitors.

Roads and Residential Areas Choked by Parked Vehicles
Local residents say vehicles belonging to hospital visitors are being parked on main sector roads and in front of residential houses. This has resulted in frequent traffic jams, blocked entry points, and restricted movement for residents, emergency vehicles, and pedestrians.
Residents allege that the problem has become routine, especially during peak hospital hours, creating safety risks and daily inconvenience for families living in the area.

RWA Questions Issuance of NOC
In a memorandum submitted to the Greater Noida Authority, the Delta-1 RWA questioned how the hospital was granted a No Objection Certificate (NOC) despite lacking basic parking infrastructure.
RWA President Pramod Bhati stated that as per regulations, hospital parking must be provided in the basement. However, in the case of Green City Hospital, the basement is reportedly being used for laboratory services and OPD operations instead of parking.
“This raises serious questions about regulatory oversight. If parking is mandatory, how was the NOC issued in the first place?” he said.

Demand for Penalty and Action Against Hospital
The RWA has demanded strict action against the hospital management, including the imposition of penalties for violating building and operational norms. Residents have also urged authorities to suspend hospital operations until proper parking arrangements are created.
They warned that if the issue is not resolved soon, residents may escalate the matter further through protests and legal channels.

Authority Urged to Ensure Rule Compliance
Residents have appealed to the Greater Noida Authority to conduct an immediate inspection and ensure that commercial establishments, especially hospitals, comply with civic and safety regulations.
They stressed that healthcare facilities are important, but they should not operate at the cost of public convenience, safety, and lawful urban planning.
