What was once marketed as a premium residential paradise has now become a symbol of delay, distress, and broken promises. Over 25,000 homebuyers in Jaypee Greens Wishtown have been waiting for more than 15 years to get possession of their homes.
Rows of incomplete concrete towers, exposed iron rods, and deserted structures now dominate the skyline—serving as a constant reminder of shattered dreams for thousands of families.
Bookings Made in 2011, Homes Still Incomplete
The majority of buyers had invested their life savings in this project around 2011, hoping to move into their dream homes within a few years. The township spans across multiple sectors, including 128, 129, 131, 133, and 134 in Noida.
While a few buyers have received delayed possession, many towers remain unfinished. Several buildings are still at the basic structural stage, with no clear timeline for completion.
Rs 33,000 Crore Collected, Yet Delays Continue
According to a complaint filed by the Enforcement Directorate, two companies—Jaiprakash Associates Ltd and Jaypee Infratech Ltd—collected over Rs 33,000 crore from homebuyers for residential projects in Noida and Greater Noida.
Despite such massive funding, the progress on the ground has been slow and inconsistent, raising serious questions about financial management and project execution.
Human Cost: “People Have Died Waiting”
For many families, this is not just a financial loss—it is an emotional and personal tragedy. Buyers say that some allottees have passed away while waiting for their homes to be delivered.
Many are still paying EMIs and rent simultaneously, putting immense pressure on household finances. Over time, frustration has turned into anger as delays continue without clear accountability.
Legal Battles and Uncertain Future
The project has been entangled in multiple legal and financial complications over the years. Investigations and insolvency proceedings have added to delays, leaving buyers stuck in a prolonged wait.
While authorities and courts have intervened at various stages, thousands of families are still uncertain about when—or if—they will finally get possession.

A Larger Issue in India’s Real Estate Sector
The situation at Jaypee Greens reflects a broader issue in India’s real estate market—delayed housing projects and lack of accountability. Experts say stronger regulation and timely project monitoring are essential to protect buyers.
For now, the incomplete towers stand as silent evidence of a system that failed thousands of hopeful homeowners.
