Regular Anti-Encroachment Drives Launched in Noida to Clear Illegal Vendors

The Noida Authority has announced a series of daily enforcement drives targeting illegal vendors, roadside stalls and unauthorized commercial activity across the city. Officials said the push aims to reclaim public spaces, improve traffic flow on footpaths and streets, and enforce civic laws more effectively.
Authorities noted that encroachments by unlicensed street vendors and makeshift stalls have long been a concern in many sectors, contributing to congestion, pedestrian inconvenience and disruption of normal activities in markets and residential areas.

Daily Drives to Focus on Public Spaces and Pedestrian Zones
According to the Authority, teams will conduct daily inspections and drives to identify and remove illegal vending, temporary stalls and other unauthorized structures that encroach on roads, pavements and designated city spaces.
Officials said enforcement action will target prominent hotspots, including market areas, bus stops, junctions and high-footfall zones where vendors have set up structures without mandatory permissions or licenses.

Coordination With Police and Municipal Teams
The enforcement operations will be carried out with support from local police and municipal teams to ensure smooth execution and avoid clashes. Authorities emphasized that while genuine vendors with valid licenses will be allowed to operate within designated zones, those found violating city regulations will face removal of their stalls and fines as per law.
A senior official said the drives will also raise awareness about civic regulations and encourage vendor compliance with municipal norms.

Improving Public Safety and Urban Order
The Authority’s move comes amid ongoing efforts to improve urban order and public safety in Noida, where encroachments on footpaths and roads have been a long-standing issue affecting commuters and residents.
By clearing unauthorized vendors and stalls, officials said they aim to enhance pedestrian safety, ensure smoother traffic flow and make public spaces more accessible and orderly.

Vendor Concerns and Future Measures
While the drives are expected to clear illegal encroachments, some local vendors have expressed apprehension about losing livelihoods if not resettled or given alternative locations. Municipal officials said they will explore options for designated vending zones, and are engaging with stakeholders to address concerns while balancing civic order needs.
Authorities have asked residents and businesses to cooperate with enforcement teams and urged vendors to comply with licensing requirements to avoid penalties.
