Residents of Greater Noida West can expect a more reliable and uninterrupted power supply ahead of the peak summer season. The Greater Noida Authority has initiated work to upgrade electricity infrastructure by enhancing the capacity of the 33 kV Itaheda substation, a key power source for the region.
As part of the plan, an additional 10 MVA transformer is being installed at the substation, increasing its total capacity from 20 MVA to 30 MVA. This upgrade is aimed at meeting the rising electricity demand during the summer months and reducing the chances of power cuts.
Power Line Connected to 220 kV Jalpura Substation
To strengthen the power network, the Itaheda substation has been connected to the 220 kV Jalpura substation. Officials confirmed that the line-laying work between Jalpura and Itaheda is almost complete.
The project has been completed at an estimated cost of ₹8 crore. Once fully energised, the upgraded substation will significantly improve power stability for thousands of households and commercial establishments in Greater Noida West.
Officials Conduct Site Inspection, Set Deadline
Additional Chief Executive Officers Sunil Kumar Singh and Prerna Singh inspected the Itaheda power substation and directed officials to energise the new transformer within two weeks. They emphasised the need to complete the work before temperatures rise further, ensuring uninterrupted electricity supply during summer.
STP Inspection Ensures Environmental Compliance
During the visit, the senior officials also inspected the 20 MLD Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) located in Sector Ecotech-3. They reviewed maintenance and operational work at the facility and examined key water quality parameters, including BOD, COD, TSS, Total Nitrogen, and pH levels.
Officials confirmed that all parameters were found within prescribed standards, indicating effective sewage treatment operations. Chlorination levels were also found satisfactory at 5.0 ppm.

Focus on Maximum Use of Treated Water
The officers instructed concerned departments to prepare a plan for maximum utilisation of treated water, especially for industrial and non-potable purposes. Landscaping and building maintenance work at the STP premises was also found to be progressing smoothly.
The Ecotech-3 STP treats sewage from industrial sectors, villages including Habibpur, Sutyana, Jalpura, Haldoni, and Kulesra, ensuring proper waste management for a large area.
Infrastructure Upgrade Brings Relief to Residents
With improvements in both power and sewage infrastructure, the Greater Noida Authority aims to provide better civic services and reduce summer-related hardships. The power upgrade, in particular, is expected to bring major relief to residents of Greater Noida West who often face voltage fluctuations and outages during peak demand.
