Residents of Noida and Greater Noida have raised serious concerns over alleged prolonged delays in revenue courts at Dadri tehsil, claiming repeated adjournments and irregular hearings have left land-related cases pending for months.
Several litigants say hearings are frequently postponed, often citing the unavailability of officials, resulting in repeated visits to the tehsil without resolution.
‘20 Dates, No Hearing’
One complainant alleged that in a land registry dispute case, he received nearly 20 hearing dates over six months, but each time the matter was adjourned. According to him, the repeated postponements caused financial strain and uncertainty.
Local advocates claim cases related to:
●Mutation and undisputed mutation
●Inheritance registration
●Share determination in family land
●Correction of clerical errors in land records
are facing significant backlogs.
Deadlines vs Ground Reality
Government norms mandate that land disputes should be resolved within three months, and mutation cases within 35 days. However, legal representatives allege that several matters in Dadri have remained pending for four to five months or longer.
Inheritance cases, in particular, are said to be affecting families awaiting official name entries and division of property shares in revenue records.
A formal complaint has reportedly been submitted to the district administration, urging a review of court functioning and faster disposal of cases.
Administration Denies Irregularities
Dadri Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) has dismissed the allegations, stating that hearings are being conducted regularly. She acknowledged that occasional delays may occur if officials are summoned elsewhere but maintained that routine work is proceeding as scheduled.

Growing Frustration
With land ownership and mutation records playing a critical role in property transactions, loans and inheritance claims, prolonged pendency can create both legal and financial complications.
The issue highlights broader concerns about workload and administrative capacity in revenue courts amid rapid urban expansion in the Noida-Greater Noida region.
Whether the district administration initiates a formal review or audit of case disposal timelines may become clearer in the coming weeks as complaints gain attention.
