In a major step towards improving urban mobility, the Noida Authority has given in-principle approval for a new elevated road that will significantly ease travel between Noida and Delhi. The proposed corridor will run from near the Mahamaya Flyover to Sector 94, creating a seamless connection for commuters and reducing dependency on exiting the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway.
The project is currently in its planning phase, and the Detailed Project Report (DPR) will soon be prepared and sent to the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) for technical review and final approval. Officials believe that once cleared, the project will move quickly towards execution.
Seamless Link with Chilla Elevated Road
A key highlight of this project is its direct integration with the under-construction Chilla Elevated Road. This existing corridor, which connects Mayur Vihar in Delhi to the Mahamaya Flyover in Noida, is already expected to ease cross-border traffic. The new elevated stretch will extend this connectivity further to Sector 94, effectively creating a continuous elevated route.
With this development, commuters traveling from Delhi or Sector 15 side will be able to reach Sector 94 directly without descending onto the expressway, making travel faster and far more convenient.
Improved Traffic Movement and Smart Design
The design of the project also includes a ramp near Sector 38, which will allow vehicles to smoothly merge onto the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway. This ensures that traffic flow remains uninterrupted while also offering flexibility for vehicles heading towards Greater Noida.
Earlier, authorities had considered a more complex design involving loops and crossings over the Shahdara drain. However, the revised plan simplifies the route by starting the new elevated road directly from the Chilla Elevated corridor, reducing construction complexity and improving efficiency.
Future Expansion and Connectivity Plans
This project is part of a broader infrastructure push in Noida. Authorities are also planning a six-lane expressway along the Yamuna embankment from Sector 94 to Sector 150, which will further strengthen connectivity between Noida and Greater Noida.
Together, these developments are expected to transform the region’s traffic dynamics, especially with rising vehicle volumes and upcoming large-scale projects in the NCR region.

What It Means for Commuters
For daily commuters, this elevated road promises a smoother and faster journey. It will reduce congestion on existing roads, cut travel time, and provide a signal-free driving experience between key sectors of Noida and Delhi. As infrastructure continues to expand, such projects are likely to play a crucial role in shaping the future of urban transport in the NCR.
