In an inspiring tale of passion and perseverance, Jugal Kishore, a former teacher, turned his love for baking into a thriving business empire. What started as a small venture with an investment of just Rs 50,000 in 1992, has now blossomed into a bakery empire worth Rs 5 crore, with products reaching across multiple states in India.
Jugal Kishore, who once taught at Guru Govind Singh School in Aligarh, always had a knack for baking. It was a simple request from a friend in 1991 to bake a cake that would change the course of his life. Encouraged by his friend’s appreciation, Jugal decided to pursue his passion and opened Krishna Biscuit Bakery at home in 1992. Despite the challenges of balancing a teaching job and managing the new venture, Jugal remained focused and determined.
“I always had a passion for baking, but it was not easy to transition from a stable teaching job to an uncertain entrepreneurial path. However, with the support of my family and a firm belief in my skills, I took the plunge,” Jugal recalls.
Initially, Jugal continued teaching while managing the bakery in his spare time. But his hard work and dedication paid off as demand for his products grew. His bakery’s reach extended to nearby towns such as Hathras, Bulandshahr, Mainpuri, and Firozabad, and it wasn’t long before his turnover crossed Rs 5 crore.
In 2013, Jugal’s son, Raghavendra Singh, joined the family business after completing his BCom degree. Raghavendra’s addition to the team played a pivotal role in expanding the bakery’s operations. In 2018, the family took a significant step forward by launching Riddhima Foods, a manufacturing unit in Talanagri, Aligarh. Riddhima Foods specializes in bakery products like rusks, biscuits, bread, and cakes, and has further strengthened Jugal’s vision of growing his business.
Raghavendra, now the Managing Director of Riddhima Foods, aims to expand the business into neighboring states such as Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, and Punjab. “Our goal is to reach more regions and share our quality products with a larger audience,” says Raghavendra.
Jugal’s journey from a teacher to a successful entrepreneur is a testament to the power of passion, hard work, and resilience. Today, Jugal Kishore is not just a successful businessman but an inspiration to many who dream of turning their passion into a profitable venture.
