Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday reiterated his government’s commitment to empowering youth through education, calling it the cornerstone of nation-building and self-reliance. The CM transferred Rs297.95 crore in scholarships directly into the bank accounts of over 10,28,205 students across the state under the Post-Matric and Pre-Matric Scholarship Schemes.
Speaking at a special program in Lucknow, Adityanath invoked Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar’s vision, saying, “Baba Saheb used to remind us that only education can empower individuals to live with dignity and contribute meaningfully to society. Our government is determined that no student’s future will be compromised due to lack of funds.”
Massive Rise in Beneficiaries
According to official data, the number of scholarship beneficiaries in Uttar Pradesh has grown significantly — from 46 lakh students in 2016–17 to 62 lakh this year, reflecting the government’s focus on inclusive education and youth development.
The Chief Minister emphasized that the scheme primarily benefits students from Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), and Other Backward Classes (OBC), ensuring that every child, regardless of background, has access to learning opportunities.
“Transparency Is the Hallmark of Governance”
Highlighting the use of technology in welfare schemes, Adityanath credited the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system for eliminating corruption and delays in the disbursement process.
“Earlier, students suffered due to middlemen and delayed payments. Today, technology ensures every rupee reaches the right student directly,” he said.
The Chief Minister added that scholarships will now be disbursed twice a year — in October and January — to ensure timely financial assistance.

Abhyudaya Coaching: A Model for Aspiring Youth
Adityanath also praised the state’s Abhyudaya Coaching Centres, which provide free guidance for competitive exams across every district. “These initiatives have become platforms for turning potential into performance. We are creating an ecosystem where no student feels left behind,” he said.
A Festival Gift for Students
The timing of the scholarship release—just days before Diwali—was symbolic. Adityanath congratulated the students and their parents, calling it a “festival of education and empowerment.”
“Education is the light that removes darkness from life. I wish every student a bright and successful future,” he added.
Uplifting Millions Through Double-Engine Governance
The CM highlighted that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, nearly 25 crore Indians have risen above the poverty line, including 6 crore from Uttar Pradesh alone.
“This double-engine government is committed to building a generation that is educated, empowered, and ready to lead India into the future,” he said.
During the event, selected students were invited on stage to receive scholarship certificates from the Chief Minister—a proud moment for families whose dreams now shine a little brighter.
